Do you know students who are intellectually curious? Who love to discover how things work? Who are looking to expand their skills, knowledge and passions?
 
This summer, we invite those students to attend our Clarkson University Horizons program! 
 
This week long, overnight summer camp experience on Clarkson University's campus in Potsdam, New York, is offered for middle and high school students explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) concepts in a fun and engaging atmosphere surrounded by like-minded peers. 
 
Summer 2024 dates:
Sunday, July 7th - Friday, July 12th
 
Applications are now open and space is limited! The deadline to register for the 2024 session is March 17th. https://undergrad.clarkson.edu/portal/horizons
 
Students can be self pay or work with school districts and BOCES on sponsorships. We also offer a limited number of partial scholarships.

Below is more information on another summer program.
 
We are excited to share information with you about the 2024 PREFACE Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic https://www.rpi.edu/ PREFACE is a summer program for talented students who have been historically under-represented in science, engineering, and the technological fields, and who express a strong, early interest in pursuing careers in these areas. This year’s program will take place in-person, Sunday, July 28 through Saturday, August 10, 2024 (2 weeks), on the Rensselaer campus in Troy, NY.
 
The PREFACE Program is for students who will be entering the 11th or 12th grade in the fall. Interested candidates should review the information on the PREFACE website: https://info.rpi.edu/pre-college-initiatives/preface-2024-rensselaer-summer-engineering-design-program and complete the online application.
 
Completed applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on April 19, 2024. Notifications will be made to accepted students in early May.

Pre-College Programs for Summer 2024
 
Do you know students who are intellectually curious? Who love to discover how things work? Who are looking to expand their skills, knowledge and passions?
 
UMass Amherst has several new pre-college programs available this summer for rising 10th - 12th graders. Our pre-college programs offer high school students firsthand experience with college-level academics and campus life, and are a great way to explore potential majors. Check out these amazing opportunities!
 
Residential Programs

UMass Amherst Pre-College programs offer both residential and online options. All programs are taught by UMass faculty and advanced graduate students, and feature project-based learning. For more program details (including fees and scholarships), please visit our website.
 
How to Apply
All rising 10th - 12th graders are eligible to apply online via our website. Please note the Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Technology programs only accept rising 11th & 12th graders. You will need:
  • a brief, 1-page statement of interest
  • an unofficial high school transcript (including current academic year)
  • a letter of recommendation from a teacher or school counselor
  • a $35 application fee 
 
Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis, with deadlines as outlined below for each session. We recommend applying early as programs may fill up. 
  • Session 1 (Programs starting June 30): May 1st, 2024
  • Session 2 (Programs starting July 14): May 15th, 2024
  • Session 3 (Programs starting July 28): May 31st, 2024

College Application Intensive
 
July 28 - August 3, 2024
 
The College Application Intensive is a comprehensive week-long intensive dedicated to understanding and preparing for the college application process. A range of key topics will be covered, including an exploration of personal strengths and interests; college majors and career paths; admissions strategy; essay writing; and standardized test prep. Students will also tour UMass Amherst and other local colleges in the Amherst area, and experience campus life while living in a residence hall and enjoying award-winning meals from UMass Dining.
