Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Msgr. Scanlan High School website. I hope you find the site helpful and informative. We look forward to having you as a member of our Freshman Class. One of our goals is to see that parents and guardians of students – like the students themselves – feel at home at Msgr. Scanlan High School. To accomplish this, we have prepared this website with important information about our school. We realize that this is an important and exciting time for you, as you plan for your high school studies and think about your future goals. It is an important and exciting time for Scanlan as we prepare for another group of freshman and introduce them to the programs and activities that Msgr. Scanlan High School has to offer.

Your four years of high school will pass by very quickly. Last June, our most recent graduates were remembering their first day at Scanlan and could not believe that their high school years were over. These same students, 98% of which have gone on to attend college, have worked hard during their four years in Scanlan and are now registered at numerous colleges throughout the United States. Scanlan graduates have been accepted to Syracuse, Smith College, Brown University, John Hopkins University, Cornell University, Fordham University, Manhattan College, Georgetown, Harvard University, York University, The University of Rochester, LeMoyne, Sienna, Old Dominion and Iona College, as well as St. John’s University and the College of New Rochelle, to name a few. Because of their commitment to studies, last June’s graduating class won a total of 6.3 million dollars in scholarships to the colleges of their choice. With the same determination and hard work, I know you can do the same.

Our Religious Education program offers instruction in the beliefs, values and traditions of our Catholic Faith through class instruction, prayer services, retreats and sacramental preparation. Our Academic Program prepares our students for college and future careers. The individual needs of each student are carefully analyzed so that course placement produces success. Msgr. Scanlan offers a variety of Advanced Placement courses which allows students the support to earn college credit while still in high school.

Msgr. Scanlan High School has a rich history of accomplishments and tradition. We are ready to accept the challenge to prepare you for the 21st century. We welcome the opportunity and look forward to having you as a future Scanlanite.
